Today – more than 1,5 decades later - Worldwide international tourist arrivals reach annually more than 900 million. The tendency is increasing...
At our home area - up here in Swedish Lapland - the trend is set by the breathtaking nature and harsh climate: Wilderness tourism. Guests from all over the world come to visit us for unique activities in unspoiled environment.
White water rafting, fishing and survival during summer and tours with snowmobiles and dogsleds in winter time give experiences far away from today's mass-tourism.
But to travel "off the beaten track" means mostly renunciation of comfort. Everything a traveller needs to make his stay a holiday has to be carried to remote locactions. The result is obviously: No comfortable bed, no hot water, no wine for dinner. But group accommodation in sleeping bags with natural odour of travel mates, instant food and sticky tentcamps.
After more than 30 years in outdoor tourism we hereby react onto the increasing number of bookings and inquiries of travellers in search for synthesis of luxury and wilderness.
